An outdoor dining and playground area can be transformed with a double conical shade and weatherproof structure. Designed, manufactured and installed by Shade to Order, this tension membrane structure has provided Jewell Tavern’s guests with a comfortable and dry alfresco dining experience while their kids play in the covered playground.

Located in the coastal town of Jewells, this area experiences windy conditions occasionally. An engineered tension membrane structure was required and will endure all weather events and last decades. Its innovative design allows the structure to be free standing from the existing building whilst still having efficient rain protection. The cohesive guttering system has been designed for directed and streamline water runoff.

It’s three-dimensional design and steel columns combined with the highest quality architectural fabric has enhanced Jewells Tavern’s outdoor dining potential and provided their patrons with excellent protection from the elements.  Shade to Orders design has provided Jewells Tavern with an eye catching yet functional premises and positively compliments the existing building.

The use of one continuous membrane skin although more complicated during installation, gives remarkably higher weather and visual performance than attempting to link separate structures together. The luminousness of the fabric has allowed for natural light to disperse though, keeping lighting and electrical costs to a minimum.

This striking double conical structure has a 20-year warranty and is manufactured from the highest quality PVC fabric and hot dipped galvanised steel for ultra-corrosive protection.

This exclusive weatherproof structure with the application of heaters, is ensuring Jewells Tavern’s clients are kept warmer in the winter months, cooler in the summer months and dry all year round.
