Barrel Vault Shade Structures
Barrel Vault shade structures are categorised by an arched profile usually formed by a rolled structural steel frame. Fabric is tensioned out over the steel and dips down between the rolled rafters. This is how the required 3D shape is achieved. Barrel Vaults are extremely versatile, they can attach to (or overlap) buildings, be fitted with lights, heaters and drop down blinds around the perimeter.
Barrel Vaults shade structures can be made any size. Shade To Order has designed, manufactured and installed these shade structures from 40 square metres right up to the international award winning shade structures at Raymond Terrace Bowling Club covering 4,000 square metres and the Newcastle Airport covered walkway which is 1,000 square metres.

Our latest Barrel Vault shade structure designed, manufactured and installed by Shade to Order for the King Tide Café at Brooklyn.
The owners have maximised their outdoor dining area by installing a unique shade sail structure. Positioned right on the water at Brooklyn this area receives high winds and king tides. One of our engineered and very strong shade structures was required and will withstand cyclonic winds and last decades.
This outdoor awning and with the application of café style blinds and heaters, is keeping King Tide Cafés customers warmer in the winter, cooler in the summer and dry all year round.
This stunning shade sail structure has a 20-year warranty and is manufactured from the highest quality PVC fabric and hot dipped galvanised steel for ultra-corrosive protection.
